Blood Testing (Phlebotomy)

Patients must have all the necessary forms or paperwork (from either the GP, or the Consultant) with them when they attend for their blood test. The Manor Way phlebotomy clinic is an exception to this rule as they will keep the blood test forms there.

Blood tests can be done at:

Manor Way Surgery/ Lee Health Centre by appointment only: 023 9255 3161.

o Monday – Friday 08.00 – 12.00

Fareham Community Hospital by appointment only: 01489 587400 (Phone lines open 09.00 – 14.45).

o Monday 08.05 – 16.45

o Tuesday not available

o Wednesday 08.05 – 16.45

o Thursday 08.05 – 12.25

o Friday 08.05 – 15.05

Queen Alexandra Hospital (QAH)

There is a walk-in service for blood tests requested either by a GP or a Consultant. This can get very busy with patients from all the outpatient clinics at the hospital and they would prefer it if GP requests were fulfilled at a local clinic where possible.

For adults (and young people aged 14 years and over) this is available Monday – Friday 07.45 -16.50

Children up to the age of 15 years can have their blood tests done at QAH in the Children's Outpatients Department. No appointment is needed. The walk-in children’s blood test clinic is open:

o Monday to Thursday 08.00-13.00 and 14.00-17.00

o Friday 08.00-13.00

If further information is needed for children’s blood tests the phone number is 023 9228 6000, extension 3336.

Gosport War Memorial Hospital

Do not go here if your GP has requested blood tests as it will not be possible to have your blood sample taken.  The Hospital is only funded to take Hospital blood requests

If you have attended a hospital outpatient clinic and a hospital consultant has requested a blood test on the day of your appointment, there is a walk-in service:

o Monday 10.00– 12.00

o Tuesday 10.00 – 12.00

o Wednesday 10.00 – 12.30

o Thursday 08.00 – 12.00

o Friday 10.00 – 12.00

This information is correct as of 3rd July 2018. Days and times might change, so you are advised to check before attending.
